Can cardiac monitoring be done remotely?

RPM can be used to collect cardiac monitoring data such as electrocardiograms, blood pressure, and heart rate.

Electrocardiograms, blood pressure, heart rate, and other forms of health data can be collected using Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM).

RPM devices automatically transmit the data to the healthcare provider. This equipment can be either cellular or Bluetooth enabled

The Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) Manual states that devices used for RPM services must be “medical devices” as that term is defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Food, Drug & Cosmetics Act (FD&C Act).
